Monet Garden Photo Essay

The photos displayed below are a selection from early morning images at the Clos Normand (main Monet Garden), Le Jardin d'Eau (The Water Garden), and the La Seine (Seine River).  The river is close to the gardens.  These images were taken in 2010, during her five month visit to Claude Monet's gardens, Giverny, France, and are locations where Monet loved to paint.  The feeling and mood is in keeping with the habit Claude Monet maintained all his life, to paint outside in the early morning---a method Impressionists used in general.  A book will be published from these photos in 2011: "I Come Again to See Giverny".  To view a selection of botanical portraits completed during the artist's visit to Monet's garden, please visit the Botanical 2010: Monet's Garden page.
